Follow along to learn how to make the delicious drinks that’ll jumpstart your weight loss in just five days!
how to prepare detox water
To make the fat-burning detox water, you’ll need a gallon of purified or distilled water; one sliced lemon; one sliced lime; and a few dashes of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper. You’ll also need a pitcher for serving. To begin, fill the jug about halfway up with the purified or distilled to remove any impurities that may have been sitting inside it. Then, add your citrus fruits and spices. Finally, top off the jug with purified or distilled water to reach your desired level (leaving some room at the top) before storing your pitcher in the fridge.
To drink it during our five-day challenge, consume two cups of fat-burning detox water 30 minutes before eating breakfast and lunch each day.
Day 1: Start your day with lemon water
Start your day with lemon water. This is the perfect way to get your body ready for a long, hard day of work. You’ll feel more energized and focused, plus it’s a great way to start your morning off on the right foot! I recommend drinking at least one full glass of lemon water first thing when you wake up. If you’re not a fan of lemons, try adding some cucumbers and limes to give it a light refreshing flavor.
Day 2: Drink detox water throughout the day
It’s day two of the 5 Day Fat Burning Detox Water Challenge and you’re all set to drink your detox water throughout the day. Now, how much should you drink? Well, it depends on the person but for most people it’s about eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid per day. That includes juices and sodas too! So, by following our plan so far today, you’ve already had three cups of detox water (one at breakfast, one at lunch and one at dinner) which is more than enough to help keep your system flushed out. In fact, drinking too much cold fluids could make you feel sluggish from the decreased blood flow to your heart so let’s save that for later!
Day 3: Drink detox water first thing in the morning and before bed
For today’s drink, we’re going to add a little lemon and ginger. You can either squeeze the juice from a small lemon into your cup, or grate about 1/4 inch of fresh ginger into your cup. I prefer grating ginger because it is less messy and I think it has a more intense flavor. Here are the full instructions for making your detox water:
1) Fill a 16-ounce glass halfway with filtered or spring water (tap will do in a pinch).
2) Add 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice. If you want to reduce the acidity, try adding some raw honey or Stevia to taste instead of using sugar.
Day 4: Drink detox water every 2 hours
It’s Day 4 of the 5 day fat burning detox water challenge, and you’re almost there! By now, you’re feeling lighter and more energized. Your stomach may be a little flatter too! With just one day left, it’s important to stick to the schedule and drink your detox water every 2 hours. You can enjoy any other beverages that you like on top of the seven cups per day.
Day 5: Drink detox water all day
While the ultimate goal of any diet plan is to lose weight, it’s also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That’s why we have the last day of our Fat Burning Detox Water Challenge! There are many benefits to drinking detox water all day long. Drinking enough fluids will help flush toxins from your body, boost your immune system, and keep you hydrated. It’s also a great way to give your digestive system a break while still providing you with many essential vitamins and minerals. It will also help reduce cravings that can sabotage your diet efforts. So drink up! You deserve it!
detox water for glowing skin
The ingredients for a great detox water are simple: cucumber, lemon, and cayenne pepper. The first thing to do is slice the cucumbers into thin circles that will fit into the jar you plan on using to store your drink. Next, take some lemons and cut them into halves or quarters depending on how much juice you want to get out of them. For the cayenne pepper, take a quarter teaspoon of it and add it to your jar. If you want more spice, add more cayenne pepper! Now pour cold tap water into the jar until it reaches the top (about 16-32 oz). Put a lid on the jar and shake it up so all of the ingredients mix together.
